Getting locked in maintenance mode

    This happened to me a little while back so I learnt how to deal with it. It’s just happened to me more than once while upgrading to 3.2 so I thought I’d mention it.

    Instead of completing the upgrade hangs and any attempt to get to the admin page is met with “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance”

    Solution – login with ftp and in your wordpress root folder find the file .maintenance (you’ll have to envle ‘view hidden files”) and delete it.

    That’ll fix it.
