I just ended up buying a premium plug in to handle all this because I can’t take it anymore. I had tried looking at the BBPress support forums but it all had to do with hard coding which I don’t understand and it would be erased with any updates anyway. Thanks for your time and I hope I didn’t make anyone mad by taking up support time!March 30, 2015 at 12:25 pm #3127
First, I am using the bbpress login/register pages. I have it set up fine and it works but the caveat is that when someone registers as a new user, they get an e-mail with an assigned password and a link they have to click to login for the first time. The link currently takes them to a WP login page rather than the login page of my site and I want it to take them to my site’s login page. The same thing happens for a lost password function. I have the bbpress login widget in the sidebar and logging in/out if you’re already registered works fine. It’s anything that gets an e-mail link goes to WP.March 30, 2015 at 11:52 am #3125
I’ve tried both these plugins and tried different variations on writing custom urls and nothing is working. I know this must be a simple thing that everyone does because I’ve never been to a blog where I had login or register through the wp login page. If ayone has any suggestions I’m appreciative.March 30, 2015 at 11:26 am #3124
Thanks! I got back in. You’re a life saver! The plug in lets you manually rewrite the urls and I must have put the wrong urls in. I’ll try again! Thanks for taking the time to answer.March 30, 2015 at 10:44 am #3122
I installed the Custom Login URL and I had to manually put in new permalinks but I think I did it wrong and now I can’t get back into my site. every time I try to login a screen pops up and says “are you sure you want to log out” and there is no option to say no. I must have put in the wrong urls. Does anyone know how to fix this? I know I have to undo the changes I made to the urls but I can’t get back into my site.
