I’m working on a small publishing site and want to link reviews (both from amazon and ‘regular’ reviewers) with the books being reviewed. I found a plugin that pulls in Amazon reader reviews, created a custom post type called, simply, ‘reviews’ but can’t figure out how to link reviews and books being reviewed without doing it by hand. I’m sure there’s an easy way to do it, I just don’t know what it is.

Also – what is the proper way to filter custom taxonomies in a query (taxonomy => name, name => bil-smith)?

If you want to relate a Custom Post Type to another Custom Post Type, this isn’t part of WordPress core. You can use Posts-to-Posts plugin, or wait for Piklist, which will let you relate anything-to-anything.

    Hi Steve,

thanks for the reply. I don’t know if that’s ‘quite’ what I’m looking for. Basically, I want a way to link reviews and excerpt for book x, with post for book x, not just post to post, but taxonomy to taxonomy. I want the user to be able to post his book, with his description of the book, then post any reviews associated with that book. Is that possible? It must be . . . right?

    HI Steve,

My bad – after playing around with it a bit, this is exactly what I’m looking for. Apologies. I can’t believe this doesn’t exist in wp itself. O well – maybe wp4.0 . ..
