    I originally had a static page for my “Home” page. I would actually like to have this changed back to a blog-style page to show my posts and have it be my home page on my nav menu. I cannot figure out how to do this.
    I tried changing it in Settings – Reading, by clicking Front Page displays your latest posts. All that shows up under my navigation bar is wp_head();
    My sidebar isn’t there either.
    New to wordpress and very confused…please help.
    website is http://www.kalerecords.com

    I also have a ticket open on WP Support forum here…

    Thanks!

    We need to see some code.

    Open your header.php file. Copy and paste it over here:
    https://gist.github.com/

    Press “Create public gist” and then put the url back in this forum.

    Hi Rachel. wp_head(); is a PHP function. It should be enclosed in PHP tags like the following:

    There may be other code inside the PHP tags before or after wp_head();.

    Doh; as Steve points out, it should be in header.php, not index.php.

    That file looks fine. Try pasting INDEX.PHP

    Okay,
    I hope I am getting this info from the correct location? I am copying from “Appearance” > “Editor”

    Here you go…Index.php

    <?php get_header(); ?>
    wp_head();
    <!– Super Container –>
    <div class="super-container full-width main-content-area" id="section-content">
    <!– 960 Container –>
    <div class="container">
    <!– CONTENT –>
    <div class="eleven columns content">
    <h2 class="title"><span>
    <!– Search CONDITIONAL TITLE –>
    <?php if ( is_search() ) : ?>
    Search Results for "<?php the_search_query() ?>"
    <?php endif; ?>
    <!– TAG CONDITIONAL TITLE –>
    <?php if ( is_tag() ) : ?>
    Tag: <?php single_tag_title(); ?>
    <?php endif; ?>
    <!– CATEGORY CONDITIONAL TITLE –>
    <?php if ( is_category() ) : ?>
    Category: <?php single_cat_title(); ?>
    <?php endif; ?>
    </span></h2>
    <!– ============================================== –>
    <!– QUERY + START OF THE LOOP –>
    <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
    <?php get_template_part( 'element', 'excerpt' ); ?>
    <?php endwhile; ?>
    <?php endif; ?>
    <!– /POST LOOP –>
    <!– ============================================== –>
    <!– Previous / More Entries –>
    <div class="article_nav">
    <div class="p"><?php next_posts_link('Previous Posts'); ?></div>
    <div class="m"><?php previous_posts_link('Next Posts'); ?></div>
    </div>
    <!– </Previous / More Entries –>
    </div>
    <!– /CONTENT –>
    <!– ============================================== –>
    <!– SIDEBAR –>
    <div class="five columns sidebar">
    <?php dynamic_sidebar( 'default-widget-area' ); ?>
    </div>
    <!– /SIDEBAR –>
    </div>
    <!– /End 960 Container –>
    </div>
    <!– /End Super Container –>
    <!– ============================================== –>

    Perfect… remove the second line:
    wp_head();

    Check all the other theme files, except header.php. If you find wp_head(); then delete it and save the file.

    wp_head(); should only appear one time in your header.php file.

    Thanks Steve,
    I removed it from index.php and home.php
    Now the “wp_head();” is not there but it is still not showing my blog posts.
    Do I have to do something to re-create a Home page that shows my blog?
    Thanks for your help!

    @Rachel— The WordPress template hierarchy will always choose HOME.PHP over INDEX.PHP for your home page.

    Try deleting HOME.PHP (but make sure you back it up somewhere first)

    I tried that and then it just went to a blank page.

    I see that you are using a theme named ‘supersceleton’ by Themeforest. Could you deactivate the version you are currently using and install a fresh copy of it?

    It seems to me that for some reason various files in your install got corrupted. Instead of trying to fix them it might be easier for you to just start with a fresh copy of your theme.
