I just updated to Version 3.5 and am now turning back on my plug-ins

With each plug in I activate I am brought to a white screen with black text

I get this string repeated TWICE:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/56/4888756/html/wp-content/themes/magazine-basic/functions.php:1) in /home/content/56/4888756/html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 876

What is this? How do I fix this?

That usually mean’s there’s blank space at the beginning of a php file (check both of the php files mentioned in the error).

Did you ever resolve the malware issue you mentioned in another post? It’s possible the two could be related.

I ran my blog through Succuri Site Scanner and I get a clean bill of health – No Malware

I do NOT see any white space in my Functions.php file if that is what you are saying

I just paid a Web Developer for 2 hours worth of work and he says it has to do with custom code that was written for my header. Can this be true as this is a topic in the WordPress.org forums?

Now I cannot get into my WP-Admin file at all — No access

I got in and made one tiny change and got a White Screen with black text:

HELP!! Not sure what to do next???

Sheryl– Whatever the issue was, it has now moved to the second line of your FUNCTIONS.PHP file. It’s the same thing… space before the opening PHP tag.

Are you editing the file in the WordPress admin, or with an editor on your computer and then using FTP to upload it. This is the preferred method.

I have NO access to my WP Dashboard at this time

I can use WP-LOGIN to get to the screen with my username and PW but after I enter that info this is what happens next:

I do not know how to do the FTP file thing and Go Daddy says this has nothing to do with them. How do I get my WP Dashboard back to even see my Functions.php file?

I left a message for a Developer who did some work for me before. I would like to see what he has to say. I will get back to you later — Would you have an hour free tomorrow as well?

I assume you need my Go Daddy Login info and my FTP URL and login??

Be sure to do a thorough check for malware. Despite appearances and hype to the contrary, Sucuri’s scan does not catch all malware and exploits.

I say that based on dozens of our clients, all of whom said “I ran it through Sucuri and it said the site was clean” or a variation thereof. When in fact their sites were not clean and the hackers did serious damage after the scan.
