Hello – my WP blog cannot be published on the Amazon Kindle because of a coding problem that my programmers tell me is the WordPress default.

Here is what Amazon has to say:
“The feed that you are trying to validate is Gzip encoded and the Kindle Publishing system is not able to validate/process it. Please set the content-type or mime-type in the feed code as “application/xml” instead of “text/xml”. This will fix the issue. Your web designer should be able to help you with this process.”

    My blog feed URLs are:
    http://openspacesfengshui.com/feng-shui-tips/?feed=rss/
    http://openspacesfengshui.com/feng-shui-tips/feed/

My site designers need to know specifically how to make this change in the WordPress default coding —

can anyone help? Thank you so much!!

WordPress feeds haven’t been Gzipped by default since version 2.5 Are you using a caching plugin that might be Gzipping them? If so, you should be able to disable it for the feeds.

Many thanks — I don’t know enough about it so will tell my site designers.

Andrew, that was exactly the issue – SuperCache. Thanks very much for the help, my blog is now being published to the Kindle.
