ParticipantHere’s my site:
http://ultralightstartups.com/I maintain/manage this site myself and intend to continue to do so. I just need someone to help with an upgrade (and maybe additional projects down the line)
I need to do the following:
– Migrate from Hostgator to Dreamhost
– Migrate from Thesis 1.8 to Genesis
– Update/sanity check all plugins and widgets (add/remove as necessary)
– Setup a local version on my Mac for quick editing
– Understand the basics of Genesis and select an appropriate theme
– Improve the look & feel (using an off-the-shelf theme, not a custom design)
– Add a few features (2nd level navigation, different email capture lightbox, etc)
– Review/implement general WP best practices (backups, upgrades, organization, SEO, performance, etc)The ideal person for this:
– Is located in NYC and able to meet face to face, at least occasionally
– Has done this sort of project before and can provide references
– Is a low-maintenance, easy to get along with, and a good communicatorAbout me

– I’m a leader of the NYC startup community. Ultra Light Startup has been around for 5+ years
– I was once a web/Perl developer, and know the basics of unix, html, css, etc
– I’ve known Steve Bruner for years and he can provide a (hopefully good) reference
– I pay on timePlease respond to [email protected] with:
– How much you’d charge
– References (projects and contacts there)
– QuestionsI’m planning on attending the NYC WordPress meetup this Tuesday. If you are too, I’d love to meet you there.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Graham.

ParticipantHey Graham,
Wish I was in NYC to help out. Moving to Asheville, NC on Monday and leaving for Ecuador on Thursday.
When I get back, I’d like to talk about how we can possibly bring UltraLight Startups to Asheville.
On the WordPress front, one of my developers and friend, Jeff Marx, is in Manhattan and might be able to help. He’s at jm [at] digitalstrategyworks.com.
I’ll send him your stuff and ask him if he wants to help out.
